Phoenix based VMI (Vantage Mobility International) and Florida based Transit Plus, providers of vehicle accessibility products, join together to donate $500 in groceries to BEAM (Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry). BEAM offers food and financial help to those in need.

On Wednesday, August 25th, 2004 Glenn Williamson of VMI and Kevin Rissmiller of Transit Plus will purchase $500 in groceries and deliver them to BEAM in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. VMI held a contest for its mobility dealers. The dealers were to guess how many grocery bags fit in the back of VMI's new Chrysler minivan conversion; the winner receiving a $500 donation to give to a local charity.

"I am glad to be able to give back to such a fine organization that has even helped my family as we suffered financial hardship and loss when our infant son passed away. I know from personal experience how important BEAM is to our community. Many churches and charities rely on them. We should all help those who help others the way that they do," states Kevin Rissmiller of Transit Plus, winner of the VMI contest.

BEAM, located in Jacksonville Beach Florida, focuses its efforts on helping families stay together in their homes, in times of financial crises. The organization not only provides food, but also provides financial assistance, vouchers for work boots, clothing and personal care items. BEAM's special programs include "The Children's Dental Program" and "Back to School with BEAM".

VMI and Transit Plus are proud to give back to a great organization that continuously gives to the local community. BEAM is a non-profit organization that does not receive Federal or State funding.

"Without contributions from individuals in the community and companies like VMI and Transit Plus, BEAM would not be able to fulfill its mission to serve those in a crisis", states Barbara Price Director of BEAM.
